The highlights for JLP & His Band in 2010 so far have been a first time appearance at the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival in the Caribbean in May - a 50-minute performance at the televised Jazz Awards in Lodz, Poland in June - in August, a first time performance at the Zappanale Festival in Bad Doberan, Northern Germany, a 20-year old festival dedicated to Frank Zappa - then the last concert of the 2010 season for the JLP Band with a very enthusiastic audience at the beautiful International House of Music in Moscow, Russia on November 3 - also in August was a first time appearance of the PONTY-DAUNER DUO at the St. Moritz Jazz Festival in Swizterland. Another special moment in May was when French composer Jean-Claude Petit decorated Jean-Luc with the medal of Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur at a special reception in Paris. It is one of the highest honors awarded by the French Government and JLP's nomination was initiated and supported by local jazz musicians who wanted to honor him for his artistic accomplishments, among them was jazz drummer Daniel Humair with whom JLP toured and recorded in the 60s.
